My first run or should I saw walk is this Saturday. My friends and I will be going to the festival on Saturday enjoying the day but first I have to conquer the running event. Getting up at 6 am on a Saturday is not my idea of starting a fun filled day but I am proud that I decided to do it simply because I have never done a running event before.
I did not realize how many 5K running events there are but it is definitely a trend because no matter where you go on a weekend in Georgia, there is a 5K taking place somewhere.
Thanks to the encouragement of my friends and family I have kept on going. I give myself some credit but its the encouragement if I have gotten from the people closest to me that have helped me the most.
I hope that I am like many who are trying to lose weight or have succeeded in losing weight that have had days or even a week where they did not feel like going to the gym but went anyway because that is how I felt this week. I do know that if I didn't I would be that much less prepared for this upcoming weekend's 5K run.

So far so good....
So far so good...it has been about a month since I last posted anything. I have made it a habit to go to the gym and work out about 55 minutes to an hour by making it as productive as I can in that time frame. No matter how tired I am how late it is, the gym is close so I have had no excuse but to go. I have firmed up more than I have shed the pounds but I know its going to start if I keep going.
I do think that when you start a work out regimen you start to become more conscious of your eating habits and then you will starting thinking about all your habits to where you are dedicated enough to lose weight not just based on how many calories you burn at the gym.
I even park further away at the grocery store and take more time to talk around with the energy I now feel that I have. I still cheat and get that oh so heavenly "Ice dream" treat at Chick-fil-a but I still go to the gym no matter time of the day it is. So far so good but I still have a long way to go.
