I passed the test...well sort of...I bought a bag of the very delicious BBQ Lays potato chips and Coca-Cola for game night last night and they went unopened. Tempted to open them and have "just one chip" and "just one sip" went through my mind, but then I realized that one chip and one sip would turn into eating half the bag and the 2 liter would easily turn into half full.
I decided against it. However, weeks ago I would have allowed the Frito-Lay people into my kitchen and part of my meal. It is not often that I eat potato chips but I would not have turned down the opportunity seeing that they were in my house and a part of a purchase I had made.
The soda is another problem all on its own. See you want to "eat your calories, not drink them". Well I for one like the sugar even if its worth 120 calories for a 12 oz because it simply tastes worth it. That taste however is deceiving giving you hopes that it is okay because it completed your meal instead of what it really did and give your liver and digestive system a swift kick in the rear. I have resorted to water which I for one rather feed the grass with but it has now become an advisable habit instead of consuming the soda. The results: feeling full sooner and I do not feel as bad after drinking it.
Nonetheless, every time I see a bag of chips or a can of coke, I will still have to use my will power to reason out why I can not make them apart of my meals but I know in the end my health will thank me for it.

Good for you! I heard some great advice once about eating healthy. It's not about will power; it's about staying away from temptation. I think it's a combo of both. I definitely do better when I don't stock up on my temptations at home. You can do it!
Thank you Shaina for all your support! You are right Laura, not stocking up on the bad food is a good idea. It is a slow process but we have cleaned out most of the "junk" in our fridge and pantry.
I have to tell myself that it (junk food) is not worth the pain to my psychy and I cannot buy it. If in the house I will usually give in. Good luck.
